Web Site Changes
Since the WoW crowd created an AO guild, I decided to finally update the homepage to list everywhere AO people can be found, along with rosters (if they're available) and a links page for each game. It's a work in progress though. Be patient.

The intent is that eventually we'll have one big roster with personal info and info on which game we're currently playing so we can better keep in contact. (No Cliff, I'm not going to change yours every other week. ;)

3rd Annual Ancient Ones Picnic
We met at Chestnut Ridge Park again this year. Barathorn, Coltar, Fatboyfats, Macdemore, Racel, Saedaen and I attended, along with significant others, kids and dogs. Fats had just gotten engaged and Racel brought his new son for us to meet (really cute). Food was good, conversation was better. (We forgot to take pictures.)

The Lord of the Rings Online - Shadows of Angmar
AO has been created on the Arkenstone server. So far we have Cheribum, Issaac, Jamag, Malocciu and Tarsk, along with a few new recruits and myself. Shoot me a tell in-game if you need an invite.

Oh and by the way, in case you're wondering? The game is out-freaking-standing!

Server Outage
The electric flashed off for just a second today and despite my UPS, it somehow fried the on-board LAN. After some frustration and cursing (yes, me cursing, can you believe it?), I popped in a NIC card and disabled the on-board one ... VOILA! back in business.

Ancient Ones 2nd Annual NY Picnic
Barathorn, Coltar, Dareliel, Fatboyfats, Jianna, Macdemore, Racel, Saedaen & Tarsk were able to attend this year, along with some significant others, children and dogs. A good time was had by all! (Pictures are posted in the forums.)

New Forums!
Ok, I'm really jazzed. It took me two entire days, but I managed to install an Apache web server, php, mysql, a mail server and forums. It was VERY annoying, but now that it's done...very cool. Please register and test them out. Let me know what needs changed. Also, PM or post so I know who to add to the AO usergroup for private forum access. Thanks! /curtsey

Happy New Year!
Well, I finally took the time to scrounge around in my desk and found a disc with the web site files on it. All of the navigation links work again, including the Links page. I haven't checked any of the pages or links on them to make sure they're not broken, but at least they're back. Now I'm working on getting the screenshots viewable again. =)

Roster
The roster link works again. It connects you to the new EQPlayers site where you can set up a magelo-like page for each of your characters. Next week they're adding guild web pages which will include forums; perhaps we can use those. (You have to have at least one character in AO to use the private forums, so we'll re-invite your twink if you don't currently have a toon in the guild.) I'm done with school now until mid-January, so maybe I can get the site cleaned up a bit.

Ok, I'm hosting the site now. When I can carve out some time, I'll look into getting us some decent forums. Coltar has all the files for the extra pages (I only thought to copy the home page), so when he burns me a CD of them, I'll restore the rest of the site. Woot! It's good to be back!

The Hole Revisited
High Scale Kirn cooperated this time and Sundai got her epic piece without much trouble. Then we headed to CoM but forgot we needed a Rogue. We did manage to spawn Lord Ghiosk and Sundai got that epic piece too. So she got 2 out of the 4 pieces she needs to complete her epic tonight. We'll have to head back to CoM when we can secure the services of a Rogue so she can finish up.

We went to kill High Scale Kirn for Sundai tonight, but he wasn't cooperating, so she didn't get her epic piece. =( However, Barathorn's epic guy was, so we killed him. Grats, Bara. XES succeeded killing LMM on the first try (after some problems early on in the evening). Coltar and Letux both got their flag and Letux won a Valiant Belt of the Fallen Heroes. Nice job!

Coltar's Shawl Walk

An Evening With The Zeks
XES dispatched Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek with a quickness, leaving us to ask, "Is that it?" Nearly flawless and on our very first try, too. We decided to give ole Rallos a shot. We got him down to 28% before we wiped. A good portion of it was due to everyone being so tired. It was a valiant effort though. Yuliana did an awesome job of leading us. Coltar, Hasmonean, Kaeadian, Jianna/Lianna all got flagged. (Sinsatrid joined us for Tallon Zek, but already had the flag.)

All Hands on Deck Night
The guild headed to Droga for our first "All Hands On Deck Night". Quite a few folks showed up. We got some experience and levels 40 to 70 got to hang out together. Sundai got a Radiant Necklace of Souls - 8ac, 8dex/sta/wis/fr/cr, 45hp/mana and Dareliel got Glorious Boots - 10ac, 2cha/wis/int, 4fr/cr/mr, 40hp/mana.

Airplane & Hate
Well, didn't get the SK epic pieces for Dara in Sky or Hate, but we got the pieces to complete three of the first level Marsinger quests. Colt got his Gem of Faith, Sin got his Gem of Sorcery and Srau (unguilded) got her Gem of Courage. Nice range slot items, guys!

The Hole
We took a couple groups to The Hole and retrieved one of Daramir's epic pieces and killed High Scale Kirn for Kayladorm of The Society for her epic piece. Saryrn
AO & XES managed to defeat Saryrn and all her cronies on our first attempt. It was a long raid and we wiped once on Saryrn, but got everyone rezzed back in and then succeeded. Yuliana did an awesome job of leading us! XES is getting really impressive in what we can accomplish. Barathorn, Bluudstorm, Cheribum, Coltar, Crosley, Hasmonean, Lianna, Lidasya, Macdemore, Nitnoy, Sinsatrid & Watsinya all got flagged.

Plane of Fear
Took nearly 4 groups of AO only folks to Fear to slay the nasty Enraged Golem for Fatboyfats' epic quest. The raid took a little over 2 hours to complete and Fats did his turn-ins as soon as we were done. Fats is now sporting a Staff of the Four! Huge grats, it's been a long time coming bud!

PoS/Askr Quest
Several of us spent 12+ hours in PoS getting giant parts for the Askr Key Quest. Incredibly, we managed a couple of the named with just 6 people (2 2-boxing and 1 3-boxing, plus 3 others). Lianna, Macdemore & Rrokan won Crashing Wave Earrings, Malocciu won an Entwood Mace and Laselovesall won a Tome of Wind's Wisdom.

12 keys/flags/AAs were completed: Coltar, Hasmonean, Lianna, Macdemore, Malocciu, Messiach, Nitnoy, Tarsk & Watsinya from AO and Fleece - Crusaders of the High Plains, Gello - Omnis & Liteangel - Torva Spiritus. A couple of others are down to the last piece(s), as well. Thanks, Jhoric, for helping us out with heals and dps.

Asa-Tru joined AO in Hate tonight. Andion, Crosley, Sundai & Suuanya joined Nitnoy, Rrokan & myself. It was Andion & Sundai's first raid ever and the first time to Hate for the others. Andion & Sundai both got some pretty decent upgrades to their equipment. We all had a good time slaughtering everything in sight.

We started out the night doing the Scout Charisa quest for Sidhe to get his Bracer of Benevolence. The kromzek captain's corpse fell under the world and he wasn't able to loot, so let's hope a GM can help him out. I have an idea: how 'bout we skip the next expansion and work on fixing the stinking bugs and issues that have been plaguing us since the DX9 patch? /rant off

Then we ran over to Kael to dispatch Vindi. Everyone got some nice faction boosts and Tarsk won the Chestplate of Vindication (scroll down the page a bit for stats).

Plane of Fear
We successfully cleared the Plane of Fear tonight. It took us a little over 6 hours and several partial wipes, but we did it. We killed Fright, Dread, Terror and Dracoliche. We attempted to kill Cazic Thule after clearing, but we were down some folks by that time and everyone was tired, so we failed. It was a very successful evening, though.

3 groups of XES folks including a few from AO ran in and killed Trakanon in Sebilis tonight. There were no deaths and some really nice loot dropped. Cadenzza won a Cloak of Piety - 12ac, 12str/wis/int, 10fr/mr, 34% haste. Grats, Cad!

Carprin Cycle
It took us a little over 6 1/2 hours, but we finally finished the Caprin Cycle and got another whole raid keyed for the lower depths of CoD with XES. Yuliana of Omnis did a spectacular job of leading the raid. Cappin, Drefsab, Fatboyfats, Hasmonean, Jianna/Lianna, Krahger, Macdemore & Uzumaki all put in their time and are now keyed.

Fats won a Woven Knucklebone Choker - 8ac, 8sta, 55hp, 80mana, 20dr, Effect: Focus of Mithaniel (mana preservation), Krahger won a Band of Flayed Flesh - 9ac, 8str, 5dex/agi, 80hp, 20end, 8fr/mr/pr and Lianna won Circled Toe Bones - 6ac, 7sta, 5cha/wis, 35hp, 55mana, 5mr.

Vhaksiz the Shade
AO took XES on a fun little raid to kill Vhaksiz the Shade in PoN. It was a success. He went down easy with no deaths, but his own.

Grats to Greycat on winning Vhaksiz' heart for the planar manual progression quest. Congratulations, Graduates!
Two Ancient Ones are graduating next week. Hasmonean will be receiving his Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in Systematic Theology from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Krahger will be receiving his Bachelors from Clemson University in Computer Science and has been accepted into Clemson's graduate program for Physics and Astronomy.

Caprin Cycle

Xanamech

HoT & Vindi!
We had another successful run through ToV/HoT, killed 7 named mobs, got 7 quest pieces and various armor pieces. Most went to the guild bank. Then we decided to give Derakor the Vindicator another shot. With Ronak's (Machin Shin) help, we succeeded with less than 3 groups.
